Birsa Munda Airport also known as Ranchi Airport is the primary airport serving the city of Ranchi, the capital city of Indian state Jharkhand. It is named after an Indian tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda and currently it is managed by Airports Authority of India. The airport is located in Hinoo, approximately 7km from the center of the city. The airport recently crossed 1 million passenger mark annually and is the 35th busiest airport in India.TerminalsThere are two terminals - an integrated terminal with facilities for travel desks, lounges, etc. which opened on 24th March 2013 and a cargo terminal which has been converted from the old passenger terminal, it was inaugurated on 10th February 2017.In March 2013, the tax on ATF was reduced from 20% to 4% to attract more airlines to the city. The ILS assisted night landing at airport has been made free so that there may be more flights to the metro cities in the morning.
