Monterrey International Airport, ; ceremonial name General Mariano Escobedo International Airport, is an international airport located in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico. Together with Del Norte International Airport, the airport handles domestic and international operations for the city of Monterrey and its metropolitan area.There are almost 300 daily flights to more than 35 destinations in Mexico and the United States. It is the country's fourth busiest airport and is the busiest in northern Mexico. Only Mexico City, Cancún, and Guadalajara serve more passengers per year than Monterrey International Airport.The airport serves as a hub for Aeroméxico/Aeroméxico Connect, Magnicharters, and VivaAerobus, and a focus city for Interjet and Volaris. Airport terminals were renovated and expanded in 2003 and 2007.It's also one of the fastest growing airports in Mexico: in 2016, the airport handled 9,178,533 passengers, a 70% increase in 6 years.
