Hammond

Hammond is a city in Lake County, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 34.1% of the population.There were 29,949 households of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.0% were married couples living together, 19.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 7.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 35.8% were non-families. 30.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
