Cross City

Cross City is a town in Dixie County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,728 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Dixie County.GeographyCross City is located at . The racial makeup of the town was 70.48% White, 27.27% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, and 1.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.51% of the population.There were 686 households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.2% were married couples living together, 21.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were non-families. 27.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.04.
